About Us

After years of observing major golf tournaments from the comfort of your couch, you may have wondered if you possess the skills to execute those challenging putts and shots. Now, you have the opportunity to step away from the sidelines and engage in a competitive environment that tests your abilities against your own skill level. Experience the game like a professional golfer, where every putt and shot, regardless of its distance, carries significant importance. Can you maintain your composure and sink a crucial 3-foot putt when the stakes are high and money is on the line?

The golf tournament is meticulously structured into five distinct flights or divisions, each catering to specific handicap ranges. This ensures that participants are grouped with individuals of comparable skill levels, fostering a fair and engaging competitive environment. The handicap flight a player selected will be played without any strokes. The only exception is when a flight has fewer than four players, in which case the player will be moved up or down a flight that their handicap is closer to and will receive or give strokes. All seniors and ladies will not be separated into different divisions at this time. You will play in the correct division and on the tee box within your correct yardage. All participants must be 21 years of age or older to participate in the Charleston Golf Tour.

These handicaps are based on your Golf Handicap Information Network (GHIN) to register for the division. If you do not have a GHIN, you may still participate by estimating your handicap.  After participating in three events, you will establish a Charleston Golf Tour card (handicap). In the event that your handicap, as initially provided on the website, undergoes a significant alteration of at least 5 strokes after the completion of 3 events, you will be redirected to the appropriate and updated website. Please note that the CGT handicap system calculates an individual's handicap by utilizing 80% of their average score. After the 3 events, you will not move again that season.  If you obtain a GHIN after the first year, you will then establish a Charleston Golf Tour handicap for subsequent seasons. Any attempts at sandbagging or cheating will not be tolerated. The Charleston Golf Tour is divided into two seasons: Spring and Fall. Each season will comprise twelve events. Each event will feature a trophy and a purse prize, as well as various side games. All events will contribute points towards a season-long cup race. The events are all located in the Charleston area, allowing you to participate in as many tour events as you wish.

Membership is required for season long games. If you choose not to obtain a membership then you will pay a non-member rate and be put on a waitlist where you will be able to play if the tournament doesn't fill up by expiration date.
